Kim Kardashian Steps Out in New Product Endorsement, Skechers

Reality TV star Kim Kardashian has landed another fitness endorsement to promote Skechers Shape-ups fitness footwear, even though she attributes much of her weight loss to another product she hawks, a controversial diet supplement.

Kim, who shills the diet pill QuickTrim, released an exercise DVD earlier this year.

Meanwhile, the jury is still out regarding the effectiveness of “fitness footwear.”

Some say they’re nothing more than overpriced sneakers, while others say the shoes’ unique contours do indeed help tone the thighs and glutes.

While it’s unclear whether these fitness sneakers can accelerate weight loss, most agree that at the very least, they’re comfortable to walk in.

Of course, Kardashian, 30, claims the fitness sneakers helped tone her legs and butt and are a good substitute for a gym workout when time is short.

“When I was in New York, I wasn’t working out,” Kim told reporters at a recent press conference to promote the shoes. “I was feeling so depressed.”

But Kardashian says walking around in her fitness sneakers gave her a good workout.

“I honestly would wear them just all around the hotel,” she says. “The fact that I would feel something without even having to set foot on a treadmill just made me feel better.”

Kim, whose weight has fluctuated over the years, says she’s “a little more toned” in her “legs, butt and stomach,” thanks to Skechers.

“Shape-ups have already impacted my fitness routine for the better,” she says. “I am always on-the-move and never know exactly when I can fit in my next workout.”

Karashian drew widespread criticism recently for promoting a pre-paid debit card, called theKardashian Kard,” to her fans.

The card, however, is loaded with fees that makes it exceedingly expensive. Groups such as the Consumers Union have condemned its promotion to teens.
